Terms and conditions

Effective July 29, 2026

Plain-language summary

Use SkyFinder as an observational aid. Conditions, sensors, and calibration affect accuracy, so stay aware of your surroundings.[email protected]

1. Agreement

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the SkyFinder mobile app and website, provided by Codevty (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using SkyFinder, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use SkyFinder.

2. What SkyFinder provides

SkyFinder is an educational and observational utility that estimates the position of the Moon, Sun, planets, and selected stars, then uses device sensors to help guide your view. Features and supported objects may change over time.

3. Accuracy and safe use

Astronomical calculations can be precise, but the displayed camera guidance depends on factors outside our control, including compass calibration, magnetic interference, location accuracy, camera field of view, weather, obstructions, and device sensor quality.

  • Do not use SkyFinder for navigation, aviation, maritime activity, surveying, emergency response, or any safety-critical purpose.
  • Never look directly at the Sun through a camera, telescope, binoculars, or other optical equipment without certified solar protection.
  • Stay aware of traffic, terrain, people, property, and other hazards while looking at the screen or sky.
  • Follow local rules and obtain permission before entering private or restricted property.

4. Permission to use the app

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SkyFinder for lawful, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and the applicable app store rules.

5. Acceptable use

You may not copy, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, interfere with, misuse, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to SkyFinder or its supporting systems, except where applicable law expressly permits such activity.

6. Intellectual property

SkyFinder, its visual identity, software, text, graphics, and other content are owned by Codevty or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Third-party services

SkyFinder may link to services operated by others, including Google Play. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

8. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SkyFinder is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, or that every displayed position will be exact.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Codevty and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss arising from your use of or inability to use SkyFinder. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Changes and termination

We may update, suspend, or discontinue all or part of SkyFinder. We may also update these Terms by posting a revised version here. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Governing terms

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable app store terms, form the agreement between you and Codevty regarding SkyFinder.
