Privacy policy

1. Who we are

SkyFinder is provided by Codevty (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy covers the SkyFinder mobile app and website. For questions or privacy requests, contact [email protected]. You do not need a SkyFinder account to use the app.

2. Information used on your device

• Location: your current location helps show celestial positions, local event visibility and viewing times. Precise location used for these features stays on your device and is not shared with advertising providers.
• Camera and motion: camera access provides an optional live backdrop; motion and orientation help guide you around the sky. Camera imagery and sensor readings are processed on your device. We do not record or upload your camera view.
• Preferences and reminders: settings and saved event reminders are stored on your device. Notifications are optional and depend on your permission and device settings.

You can manage camera, location and notification permissions in device settings. Some features will not work without the relevant permission. SkyFinder does not request background location access.

3. Information collected through our services

• Usage and diagnostics: subject to applicable consent and privacy choices, we and our service providers may process app interactions, screen visits, session and installation identifiers, app and device information, purchase or reminder actions, and crash and performance reports. We use this information to understand usage, resolve problems and improve the app.
• Advertising: advertising partners may process your IP address, approximate location, device and advertising identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and protect their services.
• Purchases: the app store and our purchase-service provider process payments and purchase records. We receive purchase status, product information and customer identifiers to provide and restore paid benefits. We do not receive your payment card details.
• Feedback and support: when you send feedback or contact us, we receive your message, any contact information you provide, and relevant app or device information. We use it to respond, provide support and improve SkyFinder.
• Invitations: where permitted by your analytics choices, a random invitation code may associate an app opening or installation with a shared invite. We do not read your contacts or address book.

We do not include your precise observing location, camera imagery, free-text searches or feedback message contents in analytics or advertising data. Providers delivering the app’s content and this website may also process limited network and security information, such as IP addresses.

4. How we use and share information

We use information to provide app features and content, manage purchases, respond to requests, improve reliability, understand use, deliver and measure advertising, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations. Where applicable, we rely on your consent, performance of a service you request, legitimate interests or legal obligations.

We share relevant information with providers that support hosting, content delivery, analytics, diagnostics, advertising, purchases and customer support. They process information under their applicable terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell your precise sky-guidance location or camera data. Some advertising-related disclosures may qualify as a “sale,” “sharing” or targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws. You can exercise available opt-out choices as described below.

5. Service providers

Our providers include Google (advertising and Firebase analytics and diagnostics), Meta, Liftoff and InMobi (advertising), RevenueCat and the relevant app store (purchases), and hosting and operational providers including Cloudflare, Convex and Axiom. 6. Your choices and rights

Use Settings → Privacy choices, when available, to review or withdraw consent and access applicable options to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information. Analytics collection follows applicable privacy choices. Withdrawing consent stops future consent-based collection; it does not automatically erase information already processed. Device advertising settings offer additional controls. Opting out does not necessarily remove all ads; Premium removes in-app advertising.

You can revoke permissions in device settings, turn off notifications and delete locally saved information by clearing app storage or uninstalling. This does not automatically delete purchase or other records already held by us or service providers.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information; object to processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a rights decision. Send requests to [email protected]. We may need information to verify and locate your request. We respond in accordance with applicable law, and you may complain to your local data-protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

7. Retention, security and international processing

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including support, service improvement, fraud prevention, purchases and legal obligations. Different categories may be kept for different periods. Purchase records may be retained to maintain and restore your entitlement; support records are kept as needed to address your request. Service providers apply their own retention policies. You may request deletion of information we hold, subject to applicable exceptions.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit. No system is completely secure. Information may be processed in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

8. This website

This website does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may process technical request information to deliver and protect it. Invitation pages preserve a valid invitation code when opening the app or linking to Google Play; any subsequent app attribution follows applicable privacy choices. External links are governed by the destination’s own policies.

9. Children’s privacy

SkyFinder is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, or a higher age where required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10. Changes and contact
